Shotgun Congress

An online writing community developed to allow users to share and critic user generated content.

Requirements:
RSS, Blog, Stories, File Upload, Community features
Creative Solutions:
When this site was redesigned I took a look at how to make it more community oriented and user friendly. To solve the first problem I expanded the user profiles to give users more space to talk about themselves. Users were also allowed to upload photos of themselves and those pictures were used to put faces to some of the site activity. To solve the second problem I simplified the site navigation to basic user operations making sure that there was a link to do exactly what they wanted on almost every page. Another part of making the site more user friendly was making content easier to find. This was accomplished in allowing users to browse content both by genre and by author.
